Attract, Recruit, and Train the Next Generation of Technicians

Bryan Orr

Baby Boomers have made up a significant portion of the workforce in the HVAC industry. As they continue to retire out of the trade, the labor gap increases, and we have to be able to attract younger Millennials and Generation Z to close that gap. However, those two generations have different sets of values, skills, and learning styles than the Baby Boomers and Generation X before them.

This presentation will explain how to make the HVAC industry appeal to younger generations, where and how we can find promising young candidates for the HVAC trade, and how we can create training programs that set those people up for success.
