Follow the Heat™ is a method of teaching thermodynamics and the refrigeration cycle, developed by Gary Xavier over 20 years ago. This program has been used by dozens of instructors, and has been found to be easily understandable by novice students, while still be relevant for experienced technicians and instructors. "We're in the heat transfer business - it's what we do."

This session will be released for viewing on March 15, 2021 and will be available for viewing (and reviewing) for 120 days thereafter.

Gary Xavier

Gary B. Xavier is an author and instructor with 20 years of teaching experience, preceded by 20+ years of working with commercial and industrial HVACR systems.

As a seminar curriculum developer and instructor, he has written and presented programs on HVACR, boilers, water chemistry, and HVAC controls to over 10,000 participants throughout the U.S. and Canada. Xavier's most recent writing is Math for HVACR, published by Goodheart-Willcox.

Licenses, Certifications, and Memberships: Stationary Engineer - Third Class, EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Recovery, Licensed Building Code Enforcement Officer (New York), Licensed Applicator-Cooling Towers (New York and Pennsylvania), Licensed Water Plant Operator (New York), Member ASHRAE, RETA, IIAR.

Education: Stationary Engineering Certificate (Monroe Community College), and A.A.S. Business Administration (Auburn Community College).
